Precast retaining wall project provides walkway to the Twelve Apostles

Otway Precast worked with Global Contracting, Parks Victoria and Thomas Berrill Landscape Architects to complete the last stage of the coastal walk from Apollo Bay to the Twelve Apostles.

The retaining wall project, called ‘Gibson Steps’ was completed in 2014 and incorporated 28 sand-blasted rich red-oxide concrete panels, with a mixture of sea shells and crushed abalone shell drifts to create a coastal-themed walkway under the Great Ocean Road.

The retaining wall walkway provides safety for pedestrians and tourists visiting the region, while doubling as an aesthetically pleasing design worthy of the stunning scenery. We are proud our work stands beside the Twelve Apostles along the Great Ocean Road.
